THE HEARTBEAT OF EMBRACE
As the drummer for Embrace, my career has been defined by performing at the very highest level of the live and recorded music world.
Career highlights include supporting David Bowie at Glastonbury Festival in 2000, two sell-out nights at Millennium Square, Leeds, in 2005, three sell-out shows at The Piece Hall, Halifax, and a sell-out at Kirkstall Abbey, Leeds, in 2024.
Alongside touring and recording, I’ve spent years mentoring young musicians and bands, lecturing around the UK on the realities of the music industry, co-owning a grassroots venue dedicated to supporting emerging artists, and teaching drums privately for over 15 years.
This blend of world-class performance experience, and hands-on development work, is the foundation of Mike’s Trax: delivering professional, musical, song-first drum recordings, with the insight of someone who’s lived every side of the industry.

Squirrel Studios
My studio is fully equipped with both Audient and Antelope audio mic preamps and converters, for pristine high quality audio capture.
I record using Pro-Tools software.
I also have a full suite of Audio Technica mics which, after testing many brands, I have found gives me the perfect drum sound I have been looking for.
Dependent on the client's sonic requirements for their song, I can choose from an array different sounding drums of various makes and eras, plus a very good selection of Zildjian cymbals, who have very kindly endoresed me for the last 25 years.

Send your musical backing tracks to me. I will then listen and prepare the drum part, either using guidance from the client or writing something from my own ideas, to suit the structure and mood of the song.
I record drums at my own studio, drawing on 30 years' experience as the drummer for Indie multi-platinum band Embrace.
This will then be submitted to the client for a discussion and approval. One main revision included, plus tweaks.

Professional stereo wav and drum stems delivered for a fixed fee for any song idea under 4 minutes long. Longer songs at an extra cost, discussed on a song by song basis.

Rate: £120 Per Song for the first 20 applications and then £150 per song thereafter.
Applies to tracks up to 4 minutes in length.
